There will be advice for capturing a breathtaking landscape like Ansel Adams, how to take an underwater picture looking at the work of Seth Casteel, ways to engage your family for fun, relaxed group shots and how to capture wild animals like the pros at National Geographic.

Teens will demystify how a camera takes a photograph, introducing them to aperture, shutter speed and ISO. Building on their camera knowledge, they will be led into thinking more about their photographic composition and how to make their images POP! Famous photographs such as Ansel Adam’s breathtaking landscapes and Henri Cartier-Bresson’s “decisive moment” will be used to inspire and create fun, reportage style travel images worthy of a glossy mag.


Time: 13:20 to 13:40 – Saint Lucia Tourist Board - Beyond the Caribbean Beaches, a Tropical Rainforest Adventure for Families

Families that explore Saint Lucia can expect action, adventure and exhilaration on a Caribbean island of spectacular natural splendour, where the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Piton Mountains meet with unspoilt rainforest and multi-coloured coral reef. Whether you choose to climb the Gros Piton, dive into the amazing underwater world, explore the rainforest on foot, bike or Segway or take sightseeing to new heights with an aerial gondola ride or zip line experience, there’s so much to discover. With their two sons now 15 and 17, Chris and Jackie were looking for adventurous holidays that would inspire them to travel as a family. Ethan had to have a total hip replacement about 60 years too early at the age of 15 and wanted to prove to himself he could take on a big physical challenge. So it was decided, they’d climb Kili. Their younger son had the idea of trying to use the climb to raise money for a charity (Blue Skye Thinking). So then it was just a matter of organising the climb and what training to do. Oh yes…. and paying for it!

At the age of 12 Lewis Nunn went on a cruise ship and instantly knew that this was his future. He set about to single-handedly convince people his own age that cruises are not just for oldies! Kids, bring your parents to the Family Travel Show this weekend and let Lewis explain why cruising as a family could be the perfect getaway.
